I also got through the stack of paperwork that was starting to lean over my keyboard... 20 new artists? Maybe 2 dozen? And got another box off to Dragon*Con and got a pile of orders out, all of which was very nice. I've called off gaming tonight (and a Very Tempting alternate bollywood movie invitation) to finish the card art I have due and tomorrow I do the bajillion orders that take the heat press.
I am only skimming LJ entries right now - I am so sorry! - but I'm saddened by how many people are swearing off 'art communities,' fantasy in particular. I really hope that's nothing to do with EMG - we've been quiet lately (and in general, my artists sure *act* happy with the runnings of things!), so I suspect that's coming from other directions. But still! Art communities should be happy, productive communities with lots of love and support! Ellenthehippie says so! Yes, I'm wearing sandals and socks today, what of it?? (Why do you look at me like that? Sometimes it's hard to tie my shoes...)
I've been whining a lot about suppliers lately - printers in particular, and thought it might be nice to say something GOOD about some of the folks I've been working with: Saskya and Simply Soap (Carol Ochs), in particular. I've *already* got my stock of both lip balms and soaps (though it's still going to take me ages to label and package!) and these gals are super great to work with, timely and have awesome products. Kudos! It makes up for the Avalons and Comixpresses that are making me tear my hair out!
Lunch is over, out of time, back to the grind...
