This is one of my favorites from this year. I don't know if it was the inks or the pencils, or both, done in 2001. I should keep better records or something. The original of this went to one of my artists in lieu of pay. :) (Their choice! I don't foist art off on artists instead of money unless they ask me to.)
I kept plugging away at this psuedo-freelance thang. Character is India.
And discovered oils! This is Laila, and this sucker took like 6 months to dry. I'm looking foward to trying these alkyd paints I ordered for my class... supposedly they work just like oils but dry overnight. We'll see!
This was also a commission - Malin.
This, believe it or not, was also a commission. I had a sketch of this (Did I post it? I can't remember - it lived in my Elfwood gallery for a while...) in a portfolio that I showed off at the fair, and this girl fell absolutely in love with it. I think she might have bought the sketch, though it hadn't been really for sale, and she came back the next day to commission a bigger, color piece with that theme. This might be my best selling piece.
I did this for the Adventurer's coloring book. More playing around with moosey unicorns.
This was actually a RWH (Elfquest) piece that I was playing around with big areas of black in. I rather like it. It was the first piece I submitted to Epilogue, back in the dark ages of that site, and I'm still surprised it's there!
