Go submit bootcamps: http://www.emg-zine.com/february06/artbootcamp.php
I have so commanded! Come on, you know you have exercises that you'd like to share. Don't make me make them all up myself.
And go do the darn boot camp so I don't feel like I'm doing this for nobody in particular. You know who you are - making claims about being serious about art/writing, but not actually making progress in it. Discipline! Listen up, maggots! And other drill sergeant-esque rhetoric. http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=42
I am dosing my back with booze, for the moment, and a delicious homemade casserole is going into the oven while this monstrous print job continues to run. I am a little nervous that I underbid on this one - I hadn't anticipated the ink useage (artist and I were on different pages about how much color would be used. Much different pages. IE: linework veruse fullcolor splash) and I'm down to my last two cartridges. Gah. Stupid expensive ink. Oh well - they paid amply for other aspects of this job, so hopefully it evens out. I'll have to run numbers to be sure, but I'm pretty sure that I've got my costs covered, plus. Also sounds like this will be a large annual job with a big flexible budget. They were so happy with the samples that they are afraid they won't be able to top this next year. Yay! Just, next time I will get on the same page as my artist and quote a reasonable price for the job I'm actually doing.
In other news, you must check out http://www.bluegreenplanet.org/ - just opened about three seconds ago, according to the email in my inbox. A very cool e-cards site with some gorgeous art and neat quotes, and you should get involved. So I spake.
