working hard

Mondaily with a few snapshots of last week...

You may have noticed I didn't blog all of last week. Or, maybe you didn't!

It was a little nuts. The garage is now about half-built, I think, so most days, the yard is this crazy swarm of people and equipment and loud noises. It's throwing the baby's napping off - she's gone from lovely 2-3 hour naps to 1-1.5 hour naps... and has decided to wake up a few hours earlier than usual most mornings, as well. To add sprinkles, she's waking up some nights, too. Friday night, we were up at 1, 3 and 5.

Brains... I need them badly.

I have started dance class again, which is quite nice. I need the exercise and grown-up time in equal portions, I think. I also went to gaming this weekend, which was lovely and much-needed, and got some solid work done on the last Fantastrix piece as well as a commission from that project. (Which I may or may not include in Fantastrix, depending on how it inks up... it may not be a good match in style.) I'm very, very close to the inking stage for Adopted:

I need to take a ruler to the architectural bits and refine the floor a bit. Any other last-minute thoughts for me?

I've been doing a lot of food things, too. It's smoking season - it's cool enough outside to do smoking without freezing things, so we did a biiiig pack of pulled pork for the winter. Guppy 'helps'.

Cranberries (lingonberries!) are ripe, so we've been picking those, too. I don't know what other toddlers are like, but this one LOVES to go outside. Several times a day she points imperiously at the door and insist that she wants to go play. The weather has been wretched, and she sometimes gets quite stompy when I try to explain that it's too wet. Sometimes we go outside anyway.

And she is very good at picking cranberries! I showed her what we were doing, and she was All About finding the little red berries and putting them in the bucket. She picks them one at a time, fishing around in the leaves if she drops one, and then lets it fall into the bucket, then tips the bucket to peer in after it trying to figure out which one she just put in. It only took a few instances of explaining that we didn't want leaves in the bucket before she was being very selective, and she only crushed the first few berries before accepting that we didn't want berry mush, either.

She also loves to 'help' me sweep and clean up, will 'close the door/drawer,' 'bring me the dishrag,' and 'find my/your shoes!' One of her favorite words is 'uh-oh,' which she says whenever she drops something. She has figured out how to open doors, though she isn't good at it yet, and likes to sit on things - sometimes backing up to them hilariously to get her butt on them.

My coffee is cold. I may need a cup of tea.

A quick request!

I am jumping through a gazillion hoops involved in switching my Paypal account from one with a monthly fee of $30 to a more reasonable $5 (they couldn't just downgrade me, wtf?), so if anyone was thinking about buying a coloring book (recently updated!), or credits to spend at Sketch Fest, or even some of my artwork!, I would very much appreciate being able to test the new settings before Sketch Fest this Friday! (Eek! This Friday, already!)

There should be no change in service, but the interface may LOOK a little different, and it ought to end up in a different account.

If you would like to help me test but don't actually want to buy anything, I am happy to issue a full refund after you've tried it out. I'd love to get both a Paypal and a CC order, to make sure they are both working correctly.

Off to shower while the Guppy snoozes...
