(/end scaly scaly capitalism)

Yesterday's swim class was delightful - there was a 9 month old little girl, and Guppy, and that was the sum total of the class. She balked at going in right at first, but warmed up literally and figuratively right away, splashing and kicking and throwing the balls. She tried a floaty, with some coaxing, and the instructor and I could pass her back and forth while she provided propulsion. A total success. She says she likes it and asked to go back 'tomorrow.' We haven't gotten to blowing bubbles, but maybe soon? She was able to blow bubbles with soap and a wand on the porch Wednesday, so hopefully she can translate the idea.

We also had storytime yesterday, and shopping, and we actually ate out at McDonald's, which is an almost-never for us. It made for a very long day, but she was a trooper. She did get knocked over by a boy at the library, and after a moment on her butt looking shocked, she fell over and had to 'hug the floor,' crying dramatically. I asked if she could say drama queen and she got back up and played again. The other mom was very apologetic and put her son in a tearful timeout.

Today is my last CSA share for the year, which feels like a true finish to the summer. I will miss the delicious delicious veggies. And Guppy will miss going to pick up the brown chair. (Farm share)
