Good Monday to you!

It is a balmy -9 here this morning, having warmed up from about -20 over the weekend. It was -35 in town yesterday. I've got a lovely fire going and Guppy is listening to disco music and playing with tupperware.

I am still stewing over my goals/system-of-accomplishments for 2014; I was pleased with what I got done last year, but I'm less pleased with my level of improvement. Going back through my sketchbooks from 2000 was a lot of fun, but I also feel like I haven't come as far since then as I would like. And it's easy to see why: I haven't taken any of the steps I know I need to to address the flaws I already know my work has. This is true of both writing and art.

I did get weekend art time! I'm working on a piece for a submitted description. (Artists who draw people, there is an awesome submitted description that closes in a week with no submissions yet! Portrait Adoption has gone paperless [barring certificates], so joining it is painless.)

(30 minutes later) Guppy is upstairs resisting a nap. She woke up early and started acting cranky, finally slept for about 20 minutes and is now muttering about the establishment from her bedroom. I may go get her now and hope she naps later...

Last hour of Muse Fusion! It's been a good one - I've written most of a meta-fiction article, a snippet of another, a short story, and am about to tackle either artwork or a poem, Guppy willing. http://torn-world.livejournal.com/163357.html
