Guppy's word for today is 'Up!' It is never heard singularly, though, it is always 'Upupup!' and usually accompanied by arms in the air. She is a cuddly child and likes to be held, and she likes to be swung into the air, too.
On Monday, she was terrifically frustrated by her shape puzzle. She could figure out which piece went where - this one had a copy of the puzzle piece on the board, she didn't have to figure it out by shape - but she could NOT get them rotated into position correctly. On Tuesday, I was startled to find the puzzle, which I'd seen her take all the pieces out of, with pieces back in. I didn't witness the action, though, until later, when I watched her carefully rotate one of them into place and press it down triumphantly.
"You've leveled up!" I told her.
"Upupup!" she agreed.
And, a story for ellettra.
Norway was barking the other night, and I went out to scold him. I heard rustling, but it was fairly far off. "Ah," I thought. "Moose."
Somewhat later, Jake opened the door to do the same thing, and as he was leaving, I said, "I thought I heard a moose out there earlier..." - just as he backpedaled directly back into the house and said, "Yup. Moose." There was a big calf between the house and garage, and Momma was crashing about just past the turnaround. There was a brief, baleful glare, and then they moved on.
Shower now, some programming, granola-baking, catbox-scooping, lunch-making, product photographing, email-writing, and... that's more than I can squeeze in a nap anyway...
