She's been able to do both of those for some time now outside her crib, of course, and she has been proficient at rotating flat since we brought her home from the hospital, but she never quite put together the idea that she could sit up in bed, and from there, use her shiny new pulling up skills.
This changed just a few days ago, and I've had to go back in and lay her down several times per nap; she seems quite good at getting up, and not at all good at getting back down, even when she's so tired that she sobs in relief and puts her head on my shoulder in exhaustion when I pick her up. She's quite good now at sitting back down from standing when loose on the floor (and is also standing unsupported for brief moments, and doing some limited cruising), but the crib clearly confuses things, and I'm also not sure she ever (willingly) lies down on her own. This has led to some difficulty getting her down for naps. Yesterday, it took 2 hours to get her down, and then I had to wake her up after 45 minutes to go to an appointment... and I never did succeed in getting her down for the second nap! She still insisted on rising for a midnight feeding AND on waking up 2 hours early this morning, but I feel better rested than I did yesterday.
She's down (finally!) now, and I'm going to run and take a shower. Bread to make today. I got a little writing and revising finished, and the next Big Storyline installment is up for review, plus a scene from a new POV that I'm quite happy with. Maybe some art, later? Shall see... there's a Sketch Fest this weekend, horrah! Must send off an email reminding people today.
