Fridaily with commercial plug!

EEK. I just realized I have four pieces of artwork and two stories due at the end of the month. Best get cracking on those...

Shipping a print order today, and spent some time going over finance-y things. I'm a smidge low on where I wanted to be by this time of year. Surgery did not help that, but the more worrisome bit was the freelance source that promised regular work (and keeps 'threatening' these big projects) and hasn't delivered. This month so far, I've gotten 2 hours out of 'em. That doesn't pay the bills or fill the retirement.

So!

If you know anyone looking for quality programming, graphic design, editing, layout, or AutoCAD drafting, I should be finished with everything on my plate by early next week, and would love to discuss new jobs!

You are also invited to donate to the Sketch Fest webpage, if you'd like to see me spend more time on that - or purchase some of my artwork!

Sponsorship makes stories free for the public to read, and lists you as a Patron on the site! Sponsorships may be paid using the links below, or with Torn World credits, OR with EMG-Zine/EMG credits you may have earned by submitting material!

Printed material available for sponsorship:

"Rules are Rules," prompted by chibicharibdys - Bai and Ressa discuss a marriage license justification form. Fiction, 717 words. $10 sponsorship!

"Not Fair," prompted by chibicharibdys: 1200 words, about Kether, Kativa and Tolnam becoming adults. It's hard to write angsty, hormonal teenagers sympathetically! Sponsor for $15.

From marina's prompt about working dogs, I got what I am tentatively titling 'Breeding,' though that may change. Malaamig is shopping for a puppy, and gets more than he was looking for... just under 1000 words, $10 to sponsor. (Actually, this one was public for a while, because I didn't notice it hadn't been sponsored. If you were paying attention, you've already gotten to read it!)

These stories are finished and set on a date to post at the site now, but are still being reviewed by the canon board and may receive minor edits.

From kelkyag's wish to see Araida and haunted_blood's prompt, I got Red Wedding - the story of Araida and Jakal meeting as teenagers. I manage to mention Nleimen, as well, though not by name. It's a little silly and a little gory. 950 words. Sponsorship is $10.

kittrel wanted to know more about pest control on farms, and wyld_dandelyon suggested an invasive species wreaking havoc, so those prompts naturally combined towards "Invasive," a 1900 word story about young Ressa making choices about her life against the backdrop of an infestation at her farm. It is available for sponsorship! $19.

"Railrage," 1300 words and a sequel to "Railcrazy, prompted by kelkyag. It ties together several loose storylines very neatly indeed and sets several major plots in action!! It's available for sponsorship: $13, buy now

I took haunted_blood's prompt and this picture and got "Heart of a Tree," an 1100 word northern story starring Taiv. I am waiting for Toni's permission before I put this up for sponsorship. Yay! Approved! $11, buy now

These are future stories! Some of them are already reviewed and just waiting patiently for the timeline to catch up so that they can be posted:

(Neither are spoilers, and you may receive a bonus sneak preview of them if you sponsor them!)

"Southern Spring," a talk about northern versus southern spring between Jerumal and Birka, 750 words. Sponsor for $7.50.

By the Clock, 900 words, features Birka and Jerumal, and is future-dated for probable release next January at our current rate. :P It was prompted by valdary. Buy now: $10

Also...

You may commission me to write a Torn World piece! It will be public, with you listed as a patron, and will cost you $10 per 500 words. I write flash-fiction up to about 2500 words, any topic you desire, from childlike and charming to seriously blush-worthy adult material, featuring characters or issues you are interested in. You may send an outline, or give me a vague idea and set me loose. (Choose your word length by adding increments of 500 words to your cart. If I go over, it's at no extra charge.) Buy 500 words

(If you'd like to commission a non-Torn World story, I'm open to the idea, but it may cost you more, depending on the setting and amount of familiarity I have with it...)

(No art commissions right now, sorry! Let me finish my current list of commitments...)

For lunch? Homemade leftover bacon blue-cheeseburger! And a root beer. :)

And, in other very happy news, my inbox is down to 31!!! They are 31 emails that require actual thinking to answer, but still, big progress!
